Welcome to Whiteadder Reservoir's Brown Trout Fishery, a peaceful spot for fly fishing enthusiasts seeking the challenge of pursuing wild brown trout. Our fishing season is from the 1st April 2024 to 30th September 2024. Anglers can easily obtain permits online on our website.

Here, traditional fly fishing is the name of the game, letting anglers showcase their skills without using live bait or spinning gear. You can use any size or weight of fly you like, perfecting your technique and matching the hatch just right.

While the reservoir is shared with watersports users, tranquil spots are plentiful, and you can even hire a boat for easier exploration.

We're big on conservation here, so catch and release strongly encouraged. While you can keep up to six brown trout per session, our minimum size requirement ensures the protection of the population. Additionally, for those who choose to rent a boat, only electric engines are permitted to minimise environmental impact.
